BIC LAUNCHES REFILLABLE ROLLER PEN -- BIC TRIUMPH!

BIC Consumer Products USA is launching the BIC Triumph 537R and BIC Triumph 730R at retail in January 2009. Through this new product line, BIC is targeting image-conscious male and female consumers ages 18 through 34 who want a refillable roller pen with a contemporary design and effortless writing experience.

“These consumers are professionals with household incomes of more than $84,000 per year. They look for products that communicate their confidence and success,” said Mary-Ellen Lacasse, senior brand manager - stationery, BIC Consumer Products USA. “BIC Triumph features high end plastics, metal finishes and professional design and styling.”

Featuring either a 0.5 mm or 0.7 mm point, the BIC Triumph 537R roller pen offers an ultra-smooth writing system for effortless writing and a jewel-toned accent cap with a beveled silver clip. The metallic barrel wrap lends a professional look, and also has a refillable ink cartridge and an ink window that shows the user when ink is low.

The BIC Triumph 537R is available in a one or two-pack (black or blue ink) with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $2.99 and $4.89, respectively, and a four-pack in either blue, black or assorted inks for $8.45. A 12-pack is also available and comes in black, blue or red inks (SRP $26.28).

Like the 537R model, the BIC Triumph 730R roller pen is refillable and comes in either a 0.5 mm or 0.7 mm point, and offers the same ultra-smooth writing system. 

“The barrel design is unlike anything on the market, with a streamlined tapered end with silver imprints which give the pen an ultra-premium feel,” added Lacasse. 

The 730R also features a contoured grip area for comfort and control, a chiseled silver clip, a refillable ink cartridge, and an ink window.

Available in a one (SRP $4.09) or two-pack (SRP $6.79) with black or blue inks; a four-pack (SRP $12.25) with black, blue and assorted inks; and a 12-pack (SRP $35.88) in blue, black and red inks.

A 2-pack ink cartridge refill (blue or black) will also be available and can be used in the Triumph 730R model (SRP $3.75).
